First transatlantic sailing speed record in a Mini 6.50

“It is unbelievable, I never did expect that I would be along side other sailing greats”expressed Jay. “Looking back at all the years it took to achieve this Mini project, I am happy that after the second attempt it was a success. The feeling of accomplishment hasn’t quite set in yet, but one thing is for sure, I feel as though the entire project with Speedy Gonzalez has been a success, it has been quite the adventure.”  

So it is official, Jay onboard SpeedyG will go down in history as being the first to ever complete this transatlantic record following the classic route from New York to Lizard Point, a challenge with a 100 year history. This summer a plaque in bronze of his handprints will be installed on the “sailing walk of fame” in Brest during the Fêtes Maritimes, taking place on July 12th to 17th.
